Loved this place when I lived in PGH. The big fine mama and The Cory gunslinger were my 2 favorite sauces.

Def gonna try them out. There’s one 15 min out from me. I saw they have a ton of sauces

They were my favorite, then they opened one in Gibsonia, and it was TERRIBLE. They closed not long after opening

Yeah I love BSB but I think there are only two original locations anymore (Avalon and Kennedy Twp maybe?). I live near the one in Avalon and always have great wings when I order but not sure about the other locations as they seem to be spun off as a small chain.

For basic flavors and dine-in, this is absolutely the correct answer as a lifelong Westsider. However, BSB is #1 and Sidelines a close #2 for wing snobs.

Bigham Tavern in the Mount. Favorite type/sauces are: Hot Garlic, Dingo, Hyena
I haven’t had wings from there or anywhere recently as the cheapskate in me prevents me from paying, “market price” for wings.
TKSUPERTRAMP t1_ixhv8l4 wrote
I was there Saturday night and it was $15 for 12 wings. Not bad at all.
Stampin269 t1_ixhzbuk wrote
Oh damn, I didn’t know that, I can stomach that price. Last time I was there (a few months ago) it was $20 for 12.

Yet another fantastic answer. Bingham Tavern has come a LONG way since they were once a 90's coke bar for the Mounties.

I’m a big fan of doughboys because their sauces are the best I had on some damn fine chicken wings.
Also Sidelines was good as hell when I tried em out. No love for Fat Heads? Can’t say I’ve had bad wings out here,

A bit tangential, but I got ten pounds of wings from Tom Fridays for $30 and made them for a friendsgiving. Tossed them in a buffalo ranch dry sauce, and they were great.
For reference, BSB charges $20 for 13 wings.

Used to be Excuses on the South Side. Now that it's closed, and I have the recipe, I make the best wings at home.
SewerSavage187 t1_ixu0vnl wrote
Would donate blood for recipe. Grew up on 17th and those wings have had a part of my heart since my older sister would bring them home after drinking and watching local bands in the 90's. RIP to the Real McCoy as well, many days of my youth spent panhandling quarters to play the Street Fighter II/MK cabinets as a juvenile delinquent in grunge era Southside...

I haven't had wings in a while, especially since they have become more expensive per ounce than most precious metals, but the Quaker Steak wings are awesome. It's not so much the wings themselves which are usually kinda average sized... It's the Louisiana Lickers sauce. My god it's delicious.
We also like Wings Suds and Spuds out in Moon. They are damn good.

Cool, thanks! I used to hit up Carl's often bc they were one of the OG places to get decent bar food and craft beer! Way before the craft beer boom. Always loved it there. I'd even stop on a Saturday afternoon for a burger. I'll have to go back sometime soon. Thanks!

Extremely unpopular opinion but wings are a trash piece of meat (ducks for downvotes). But seriously their value, especially at current prices is ridiculous for that piece of meat. That said, I do get a hankering for wings. Stinkys in Lawrenceville has decent wings. Fat Head's used to be the best in the city, not sure if they are anymore. Gateway Grill in Monroeville used to have good wings also! Sorry for unpopular opinion but if wings were still super cheap bar food then meh, but at their cost, it's trash.

Sidelines in Millvale. Best wings in the area- great sauces, always come out super fresh and crispy.
Bigshot Bob's is in second place for me, but suffers a bit for basically being takeout only (though a couple locations have a handful of tables)- by the time you get it home, it's not crispy anymore. I've also gotten some clearly old/frozen wings from them before (and have never had that happen at Sidelines). That said, 90% of the time BSB's is a great option and is still a firm second place in my book.
