News says the house was vacant and there were no casualties, thankfully.

Looking at the area on Google Maps, it's sad to see so many fine old houses in disrepair. Reminds me of Detroit ...

And of course Detroit for a very long time had serious issues with arson on abandoned properties around Halloween. I certainly hope that isn't catching on here.

I'm in my 50s and every Devil's Night of my childhood, the 11 o'clock news was like prime entertainment.

Is Pittsburgh becoming abandoned??

I'm not sure, but there seem to be a lot of empty houses in that particular neighborhood.

No. What's going on there?

Haha nothing, besides the fact that I’m trying to move there so I’m just making sure I’m not moving to an unsavory part

The only thing I know about Crafton is it's where my brother-in-law got busted by the cops trying to score some crack for his wife, a recovering addict who occasionally went on a bender. Since my bro-in-law (being a country boy, and not a drug user himself) was obviously clueless, the cops let him off with just a warning.

Make of that what you will.

I have no idea. I've lived in plenty of bad neighborhoods, though, and my experience has been that if you keep to yourself, maintain situational awareness and don't participate in illicit activities, you'll usually be OK.

I live in an old trailer in the hinterlands now where I have sheep for neighbors. Can recommend!

Omg I need to google where that is!! Also, I grew up in pretty rough neighborhoods so I agree with you - I can never tell when people are being dramatic about crime And homelessness just because of perspective

Well, in all fairness, two victims in a recent shooting were women waiting at a bus stop, so you can be spectacularly unlucky.
