Yes and don’t forget to put a stamp on it and sign/date the back of the outside envelope!

Thank you! I was really confused. I seen a designated ballot drop box downtown online and I thought it didn’t make sense because I’m outside the city and would prefer dropping it off by my house

I think the recommendation is to mail it no later than 1 week before the election.

Remember, the ballot requires two envelopes to be counted. Seal the ballot in the plain envelope that says "Official Election Ballot." Do not mark the plain envelope.
Then seal the plain envelope in the envelope with the voter's declaration on the back.

You can also track your ballot to make sure it's received by the county. If it is not received, you can vote by provisional ballot at your polling place.

No one should ever have to pay for a stamp to vote. That’s ridiculous.

Franking privileges for elected officials to send garbage mailings to people in their district which are just thinly veiled campaign letters, are already paid by us. And people campaigning for office are given matching funds for election/campaign purposes, which we also pay for.

Ballots mailed should cost zero to voters.

Yes, you can place a stamp on it and put it in any USPS mailbox just like you would a letter.

Just be sure to follow the instructions, use both envelopes, and sign and date the outside envelope. Also try and mail it ASAP. It usually takes a few days.

They are also offering extended hours downtown at the County building specifically for ballot drop off (Ross Street entrance).

Sunday, October 30 11 AM to 7 PM

Monday, October 31-Friday, November 4 8:30 AM to 8 PM

Saturday, November 5 9 AM to 5 PM

Sunday, November 6 11 AM to 7 PM

Monday, November 7 8:30 AM to 8 PM

Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day) 7 AM to 8 PM

I've been doing that and it is so easy. It's drive up so no need to find or pay for parking. The officials guide you in, walk inside to drop your ballot and BAM!! you're done. Like in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Not even 5 minutes. The longest part is walking from the street to the door lol. The people there are SO FRIENDLY too.

You cannot return a voted mail-in ballot at your polling place. You can only surrender your mail-in ballot at your polling place so that it can be spoiled. You will vote in person after the mail-in is spoiled.

A mail-in ballot can only be sent via USPS or dropped off at the County Building. Allegheny County has not announced any drop boxes or satellite locations.
