Hey Yinz! We are moving to the area in the next few months for work and school. We are searching for areas that are safe to live and know nothing of Pittsburgh. We need in area of Chatham for school. We found something on N Beatty but have heard sketchy things of east liberty area. Any insight? Thanks!!!

This looks familiar. We've may have some similar questions to this in the past. You might find some good info here : Apartment search. I don't always get it right though, cuz I'm just a simple bot.

That area is fairly “safe”. We don’t have muggings… so far. It’s mostly kleptos, drug deals, etc. As long as you stay aware you’ll be fine. There’s a popular Whole Foods, a really nice Target, and tons of restaurants in that area. Most university students live in those areas and it’s in the university’s best interests to keep people safe.

Squirrel Hill is great! On that note I am moving out of my place in August and have been trying to find someone to rent my apartment since I am breaking my lease early. If you're at all interested, message me and I can give you more info.

Check out Costello management apartments on Thomas blvd or McPherson blvd. Close to Chatham and they’re great landlords
