This! As long as you abide by the 3-1-1 rule, the TSA does not care if you bring alcohol through the checkpoints.
True but don’t drink them on the plane.
Don't get caught drinking them on the plane. [Wink]
That link is for checked luggage bro, not carry on
At the bottom.
"FAA regulations prohibit passengers from drinking alcohol on board the aircraft unless it is served by the air carrier."
With the caveat: taking this on the plane can get you in trouble with the federal government. So best bet is to enjoy it in the terminal.
No, I travel all the time, I have carried a dozen minis at a time through the TSA, getting caught drinking them on the plane is the problem, ironically as long as you get them from the flight attendants all good
Which… is what I said.
No you said taking it on the plane bro
Yeah, take them and drink them in the airport. Don’t take them on the plane and consume them. Bro.
The primary job of the TSA is to stop weapons from getting on the plane, 3 ounce or less bottles of anything are ok, regardless of how many
TSA doesn’t care about you transporting little bottles at all, you’re correct. FAs reinforcing federal laws after the last few years is another story. Taking bottles on a plane and opening them or taking any drink from the airport onto the plane is at your own risk.
Yes thanks
Any drink? Like alcoholic drink? Or even a coffee or water??
This guy flies, minis are fine, rite aid is where I go, I have traveled with a dozen minis no problem, throw in a shampoo or conditioner for effect
This is the way.
I believe The Club opens at 4:30AM, entry fee is $40 without priority pass though the drinks are free
They used to say an airport what the only place you could get booze 24/7 but now that they have decimated PIT, it seems like nothing is open outside of peak hours. Last time I was there on a weekday everything closed at 8pm even though three fights were still headed out after that. Couldn’t even get a meal much less a drink.
Good luck
Early flight - lounges and bars open at 5 usually. You shouldn’t have any issues.
Flew in December at 6:30 AM or something and the Fridays was open and bustling when I got there.
Thanks
Got in on my last flight at 1AM and wanted a Cinnabon. Place was closed. Fuckers. Give me my 1AM Cinnabon lol
My flight Xanax is essential
This. For long haul flights to Europe/Asia Xanax gets me through.
Wish I could find someone to prescribe it. My dr retired, and my new dr refuses. So, no trips for me.
Are you telling them that you want Xanax so you can chill on a plane once a year or are you telling them that you have anxiety and need some medication to help in crisis scenarios?
The latter, because I do get panic attacks in other situations. I communicate my needs- they still refuse. And I've only ever taken .25. It's incredibly frustrating.
I’d go to a different doctor then. A psychiatrist, for example, might be helpful, if you haven’t tried one already.
There is a bar as soon as you get up the elevators in the terminal that I haven’t seen closed the last 20 times I flew, but a shot is 10 bucks
I was just there this morning and it was open around 5am
It was closed in January when I landed at 12:10am.
Bummer, I think I have only arrived after 12 at night like 2 or 3 times in the last couple years and I don’t recall it being closed

Martini opens at 5am. They will pour a mimosa into a travel coffee cup for you to take on the plane as well. Totally not legal but I’ve never been caught! The Club does open at 4:30 as someone noted above but the bar doesn’t open until 5
Don’t do this WITH alcohol, but Benadryl can be used this capacity for anxiety
Agreed. Could alternatively use Dramamine to help with both the anxiety and any potential motion sickness.
Martini in the airport opens at 5am!!
ask your primary care physician to prescribe you qty 2 xanax or low dose valium/other sedative - one for departure, one for return. carry them in the prescription bottle and take after going through security.
I've flown at all hours and it always seems open
I flew down for the Peach Bowl when Pitt played December 2021 and upon arriving at the airport at 4:45am learned that our flight was delayed. Started “tailgating” at the Fridays right at the top of the escalators and there were already people there before us. Just checked my camera roll and the picture of my screwdriver was taken at 5:15am.
the Penn Brewery serves alcohol starting at 6am. I know this because I asked for a 22oz at 5:45am and they said I had to wait 15 minutes.
5 or 6am at Penn brewery , I can’t remember
Edibles.
Smoke a doobie
Xanax?
It's been over a decade since I've flown regularly, but the Sam Adams lounge in Concourse C used to be the only place open at 7am, and prior to that nothing was open. A quick search found the map, but unfortunately no hours are listed anywhere: https://flypittsburgh.com/pittsburgh-international-airport/terminal-information/map/#floor/3
It took me a number of years to get over my fear of flying (it was actually more claustrophobia over not being able to leave the airplane but whatever), so when I had to leave on a really early flight I would bring a small bottle of something I could easily take shots of and then do 2 or 3 in my car before heading in. I won't recommend this because you'd technically be committing DUI and could get arrested and charged if a cop sees you, but it's a possibility if you find no other options.
What ultimately helped you?
Flying a crapload of times and taking longer flights. Sorry, I wish I had a more helpful answer than that, but I don't.
Eventually, after flying a whole bunch of times, I got a little more used to it and would get on a shorter flight completely sober without too much anxiety. I got over it the rest of the way when I started flying internationally and was spending 8+ hours in the air at a time. I think having enough flights where I didn't melt down over not being able to exit the plane got me used to the idea that it was possible, and so then when I would start to panic on each flight I could move past it with just some deep breathing and could distract myself by reading a book or something.
What worked for you is a helpful answer-thanks for sharing
Catch a meeting
Maybe instead of booze get yourself some Triacting.
You make is sound like youll have a conniption without a little booze.
You sound like you're looking for someone to judge.
Yeah that wasnt very nice of me my b
Nice, no, my wife getts very anxious flying, a glass or two of wine calms her nerves. Thanks for the judgement call though
Google it.

Save some cash and buy some minis today. Put them in your carry on and grab a mixer after going through security from the cvs. Find a quiet corner and pour up.
