I almost hit a kid today on the bottom bend of Copperfield because it doesn’t have a sidewalk, it’s sketchy as all hell walking along the guardrail, and it’s a frequently travelled street because it connects Carrick proper to PA-51. People are always walking along it.

I think city stairs adjacent to Copperfield would be a good option. Not enough clearance on the road for sidewalks, but something needs to happen because one day, a kid is gonna die on that road because someone like me didn’t see them in time.

Be careful! Even if no pedestrians are on it, it’s one miscalculation away from a fatal MVA.

contact 311 and the city councilmember for that area.

petitions won't do anything.

This. Get in contact with Coghill's office and get a 311 ticket number to send to them.

Honestly, there needs to be more step sidewalks. In a similar area, from the t-station to the ball fields could use some as well.

The rest of Copperfield leading up to Brownsville was rebuilt last fall. I think they didn’t go all the way down because they were running out of time due to temperatures dropping (can’t do concrete work when it’s below freezing). I’d call Coghill but also call Tom Joyce who’s the head of construction at DPW and ask. Good luck!

That kid should probably just walk elsewhere, it's cheaper.
