I took a class with fireborn on the Southside. You need to join the waitlist and jump quick when there is an opening. It was an 8 week course and I made 13 pieces. I was happy with the experience.

I saw their page: https://unionproject.org/calendar/?ceramicscamp=true&onetime=true&ongoing=true

But they also just have one off classes.

They regularly offer classes with 6 sessions, they just don’t have any up right now. I would call and ask if they know when the next one will be!

That’s interesting. I wonder if they are still getting ramped up post Covid

I’d call them to see what they are offering. At minimum it would let them know people are interested in multiple session classes.

Bathhouse Ceramics at the Braddock Library might be a good place to try once their renovations are over. It is a ceramics studio in the basement of the library. It used to be where all the steel workers would bath before heading upstairs to use the library.

Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild offers adult classes, called art after dark.

Edit: I didn’t realize you said young adult. MCG’s primary focus is high school students/ young adults.

North Hills Art Center has a parent+kid series we’ve done a few times, super fun! Assume they have similar things for other ages?

Check out Emmy Pots in White Oak. They are a local favorite! Their Facebook page has up to date class info.

That's promising! Do you know if it's mainly for kids though?

MakNChzAl t1_ja5qj59 wrote

It’s for all ages! They have kid-specific classes as well as more adult sessions as well

As a local Ceramic Artist I would say PGH Arts and Media would be your best bet. You also should look at Touchstone Center for Crafts for workshops (though they are also one off classes).
