So this has been brought up more than a few times recently. Best Buy (at least in Robinson) now carries a full inventory of PC hardware, enough to surprise me. From prebuilts to actual video cards, AiO coolers, CPU's, m2 drives. In relatively recent memory the only PC componets they had were portable hard drives, thumb drives, and like 3 monitors in the back corner - this has changed.

I took the trip to Cleveland last year (maybe year and a half) to visit Microcenter, and it was nice and all but busy. 95% of people are going to order components online, but it's good to know that Best Buy has "I need it today" parts, like when my SSD went out and I had to buy a M2 drive on Black Friday.

I think the closest to what you are describing was Mendelsons in Dayton, OH which unfortunately closed in 2021. I would love to find a similar local store.

Wow, that is a bizarre store! No, I know of nowhere like it around here. The closest I can think of is Trader Horn, which is now gone, but it wasn't nearly this eccentric.

For those of you talking about Construction Junction or Microcenter, look up Axe-man Surplus on google maps and look at the pictures of the inside. Yes, there's little drawers full of nuts and bolts, but there's also an iron lung, old oscilloscopes, backpacks, candles, an old TV camera, cowboy hats...
