Oh look, it's the rich billionaire who made his wealth from being born in the correct Inbred family, common fellow brits, let lick his boots because that's how they keep us idiots brainwashed.

If all royals and royal supporters just didn't exist, this country could be great.

I've never been entirely clear on the difference between cloak and cape.

Anyone in the know: which would this be and why?

MajCassiusStarbuckle t1_j6in13e wrote

That simple? Regardless, it's a bold fashion choice that I approve. I've long imagined sporting a cape or cloak but my petition to have stupidity classified as a superpower has been rejected so I don't feel worthy.

What, exactly, do you think a hereditary monarch is supposed to do to "deserve it"? He was born to the royal family, and was the next in line of succession when the ruling queen died. If you're going to have a monarchy, and you're using primogeniture to determine succession, then the ruler, by definition, does not "deserve it" based on anything they do.

The word "cloak" comes from the French word "cloche," meaning "bell." This is why cloaks tend to be narrower at the top and flare out at the bottom.

The word "cloak" has also come to mean to conceal, just as the cloak is designed to wrap around the wearer. This is also how cloaks tend to be designed for warmth.
