I've never been entirely clear on the difference between cloak and cape.

Anyone in the know: which would this be and why?

Cloaks are longer (down to the feet) while capes tend to be shorter.

That simple? Regardless, it's a bold fashion choice that I approve. I've long imagined sporting a cape or cloak but my petition to have stupidity classified as a superpower has been rejected so I don't feel worthy.

Self deprecating humor counts though. Feel free to walk around with a curtain tied to your back.

Sweet! My catchphrase shall be: it's curtains for you, evildoer!

You could make it “it’s curtains for me evildoer!” Then you’re bragging.

The word "cloak" comes from the French word "cloche," meaning "bell." This is why cloaks tend to be narrower at the top and flare out at the bottom.

The word "cloak" has also come to mean to conceal, just as the cloak is designed to wrap around the wearer. This is also how cloaks tend to be designed for warmth.
