Man, I used to like helping my buddy split wood, until he got a pellet stove. Good exercise, and swinging an axe is fun.

Good honest hard work, makes you feel accomplished. Firewood keeps you warm multiple times.

Too few people understand just how satisfying it is to cut that much wood with just and axe, maul, sledge, and wedge.

After 7 years living in a place heated by a wood stove, this winter in a house with a furnace has been luxury. I miss having a fire to look at, though.

My only problem is all the exposed wood at the top. Turn the bark upwards, but maybe because I'm from a northern state it makes sense. Is that only one cord of wood?
