Thanks! And I think that could be one without the cowling. I looked it up on Google and this same engine was pictured in a post tagged as the Jumo 212, but the image wouldn't show correctly. So it's either a 004 or a 212.

This engine has had parts of it cut away to show the inner workings.
How a turbojet engine works in three easy steps:
The first few fans spin and suck in air, and fans further inside the engine then compress it. This compressed air is then mixed with fuel and ignited, and the resulting exhaust goes out the back of the engine to produce thrust.

Not sure if it is exactly the model on display, but according to it's Wikipedia article the Junkers Jumo 004 was the first production turbojet engine in operational use.
