It's so wierd to me, Cows aren't even natural animals, like dogs. they were genetically altered by selective breeding. Do Indians not differentiate between man-made animals and animals that evolved naturally? Seems self serving and destructive to worship the acts of man as the acts of god.

Yeah, it’s very weird how cow gained so much importance within Hinduism. I think years ago, animals were considered as currency in many cultures and given the Indian subcontinent’s climate, cow became an important domestic animal to have (helped with farming, provided milk, cow dung was used as manure and as a fuel source). I think that concept seeped into religion.
