We have a chair rigged on a cart that is controlled by a hoverboard. So she drives and steers with her feet!

She controls the up and down motion of the eyes with her hands!

I managed to get a video up!!

a short video of it here

If you like this, check out some of our previous year’s costumes!!

What is it made out of? It has to be more than just cardboard

That had to of taken some serious time to put together. It looks great, and so original.

When she's rolling do the eyes go googly? Has to be authentic.

Edit: nvm, saw your answer below. ;)

Please tell me the eyes look back and forth when she rolls.

I am shocked and delighted with your costumes! Just stellar!

Where do they live during the off season?

2

o0_bobbo_0o OP t1_iubee5l wrote

They all unfortunately had to get destroyed and tossed.

The older ones we lived in a small apartment and had no place to store them.

We now have a house with PLENTY of space. So we’ll at least hold onto this one for a while.

o0_bobbo_0o OP t1_iubeoeu wrote

Wow… HUGE wooosh for me. I didn’t notice that!

I appreciate you pointing it out! I’m the phony!

We did get a rope for it for the front, but decided not to put it on. It would have looked weird being bunched up in front or being dragged.

Odd, I've never had issues with link length. I wonder if that's a new.reddit problem or something with the app.

That actually makes me realize that Reddit have seemingly hidden the shortlinks these days. On old.reddit they are right at the top of the sidebar on every post. However I don't see them at all on new.reddit ("share>copy link" just gives the full link) and I'm not sure what the deal is with mobile.

Anyway, once you know they exist they are quite easy to create at least since they're just redd.it/ + the 6 character code from the URL.

That’s awesome haha. I have an early 1950s rotary phone (WE 5302) in my house and anyone younger than about 20 has serious trouble figuring out how to dial it haha. Guess none of them had one of these as a kid

2

tylamb19 t1_iueju65 wrote

I have mine hooked up to a modern IP phone switch via an analog station card installed in the switch. It actually natively supports converting the pulse dial signal into a modern SIP trunk (VoIP service) which means I can have the best of both worlds, no expensive monthly landline fees and can still use my nice old phone. It’s great.
