There is trash everywhere. Water just pools in the different little sections next to the sidewalk and bike paths. I feel like I am taking crazy pills every time I have to drive through it.

It’s absolutely disgusting. I run through there and it’s been completely trashed already, the amount of trash is soul-crushingly depressing. City is full of scumbags.
That sunken grassy island area between the Aramingo/SB 95 on-ramp and the 95 off-ramp looks like shit. It’s just gonna be mud and trash at some point.
I don’t understand why the curbs and sidewalks under 95 had to be so elaborate. I guess they look better than straightforward parking lots like in South Philly, but I’d rather see that time/effort/money go to upkeep of roads or sidewalks of more trafficked areas.
They should have addressed the sidewalks on the river side of Delaware Ave. I used to commute by bike on that side and it was always overgrown and covered in trash and gravel.
On another note what do you think of the SouthBound 95 merge from the aramingo ramp? That curve on 95, right before the center city exits is always a jammed up even when there’s not much traffic. Adding lanes just made it worse
The whole plan is a mess. From the highway merge to the looping you have to do to get to york going North. Just terrible and it looks like shit.
I won’t even go that way anymore, I hiked all the way up to the Burlington Bristol and took the turnpike back to my house in PA
You did wat now ?
Yeah. It’s really awful at this time of the year as there’s no growth to hide the mess. It makes me so sad seeing people treat the city this way. I kinda wish they’d put trash cans at those off-ramps where the pan handlers hang. I’d give em a few bucks and some gloves to pick up a few pieces in the vicinity.
You right
Was It ever not?
I thought the bike path under the interstate was nice. You can take it all the way to Lehigh.
Most of the shanties from last year are gone. Those monstrosities at grafitti pier and that stupid ‘Fishtown’ building across from Planet Fitness behind the gas station will make it ao those side walks are cleaned out of homeless frequently
You know what drives me NUTS? That turn off Aramingo. Driving north and taking the left to get onto 95, I often nearly turn onto the exit ramp. Something about the design and color fucks with my depth perception and I just can’t see it properly. I can’t be the only one.
I saw a very embarrassing photo yesterday of it and yes it’s bad
It's confusing and really poorly thought out and designed
Hands down the worst part is the on-ramp to 95 south from York street. It’s almost impossible to accept that it was designed by a professional and is so fucking dangerous that I take Delaware to spring garden when taking the Ben to jersey or 676 out west,.
Yeah, can we talk about how dumb that “Fishtown” sign is?
There is a whole tent population under the off-ramps
The FNA held a trash clean up on MLK day and it already looks a mess again. If only people cared to keep our city clean
it was a jobs program after 2008- "shovel ready". after that i'm sure traffic was a consideration, then the usage, and finally anyone who has to live by it.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by “shovel ready”?
after the 2008 crash they passed the "american recovery act" or something. but they didn't want new projects- they wanted stuff that was already planned and approved and ready to go, just didn't have the money for. this was because the faster people got back to work, the more money circulated in the economy.
95 widening was one of them, another around here was refurbishing a bunch of amtrak cars to last another 10 years.
I'd literally rather just have parking like under 95 in south philly
Because 95 was four lanes and then became three lanes at Girard and then became four lanes again so there's always been traffic at the constriction point.
Underneath it all is what the federal government considers affordable housing
that has never been questioned.
if you're interested in the economics of dollar acceleration, and also like a type of music called "philadelphia sound", this explains it pretty well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntPeHC8z1Og
always has been
Yeah but I live like three blocks away and it has tripled since the summer and is now on both sides of aramingo
I use it to ride from Port Richmond towards Penn Treaty Park.
we're not doing large swaths of impervious surfaces anymore
we are doing it, i just got off the phone with Local 99 impervious surface pavers and they donated 600k to mayor icedwine's private charitable trust.
looks like parking lots are back on the menu boys
Son of a bitch. Aite, I'll call up that guy that throws "spontaneous" parties on random infrastructure.

Is it done yet? Before the offramp was finished there were already shanties built.
