The mariposa co-op in west no longer carries it in their bulk aisle or anywhere else in the store.

The type I am looking for turns into almost like ground meat (you have to add water & flavor it of course) and is arguably better than frozen impossible meat or gardein. It’s also dry/dehydrated with a long shelf life.

Can’t stand when stores stop shit like selection/stock or abrupt hours changes, all of which have been rampant since Covid, Covid fucked everything, and continues to fuck everything, it’s still eye opening / surprised pikachu to me how extensive the Covid fucking has been. /rant lol.

Help on finding TVP?

I just got a ton from the ShopRite on Aramingo in Port Richmond. They carry a ton of Bobs Red Mill products so I’m always stocked!

Edit. Shop Rites usually have a ton of vegan options. I know they’re not a small local business but I’ll take what I can get in my neighborhood :)

ShopRite is not small but they usually are local, since it's a retailers cooperative and stores are usually owned by local people. The Aramingo Ave location is owned by the Ammons family.

The IGA just a little further south on Aramingo also has it in the Bob's Red Mill section, and can be a little easier to get in and out of, especially if OP is getting out this way via 95.

Try Essene off South. I've also bought TVP at Sprouts on Broad and Washington.

Coincidentally, I was at Essene a few days ago looking specifically for TVP and they don't have it.

Oooh sprouts, I like that store. Baking aisle or bulk or something ? It’s a niche item for sure

Weavers way coop sells by the pound! Like $3-$4

Yeah I can vouch for the Weaver's Way in Mt. Airy having it. Just saw some in the bulk section when I was in there yesterday.

Sounds like you’re in W Philly. Supremo has a large Bob’s Red Mill selection. If not, check out the Acme at 40th and Walnut.

I hate supremo but if you’re going there for TVP, I used to find it in a clear bag with a yellow paper label on top of the bag - it would hang on one of those round hangers that also had dried peppers. Back of the second to left most aisle if you’re facing sansom street (back to walnut street)

As of 3 months ago rittenhouse market carried the bobs red mill brand. I would almost guarantee they still would barring a supply/stock issue.

Mom's off of market. We have bought it there a number of times.

Haven't purchased it here in Philly, but in the past I've found it at Asian supermarkets.

Honestly Mariposa would be the last place in the city I'd expect to stop carrying it. There goes the neighborhood.

Honestly, it doesn’t. I really like it. I don’t know why I thought this was so funny 2 hours ago. I still kind of think it is. I just want to be honest about all this. Anyhow, good luck
