they succeed at what they aim to be, a low cost supermarket that provides mostly everything you need. For those that have never been, imagine a bigger Aldi with consistent products, a bakery, and a lot of random crap in the middle of the store. Every time I've been at Lidl, the produce quality seems subpar, but that may just be my local store. Everything else is pretty solid though. Their bakery is pretty awesome as well.

Their produce, especially the white onions, can be sketchy. Dairy can be a problem too. We've learned to treat both like they have a shorter shelf life than most stores.
