Why specifically a safer campus for international workers?

It's in terms of job/academic security. International workers have many more hoops to jump through and fewer resources to guarantee they can finish their studies without bureaucratic interference.

Ah. When I read "safer campus" I think of physical safety, not job security. Thanks for clarifying.

I agree. It's not my flyer. I'm just sharing it.

A protest at a university is not going to change federal immigration laws. But go have your party if it'll make you feel better.

I appreciate you pointing that out, even if you're trying to be snarky about it, but I don't know why you would think a few hundred grad students wouldn't know that. This is a labor demonstration regarding the contract between the university and its employees. Graduate Student unions are nationally-recognized, official unions, like any other labor union you might come across. We know what we're arguing. The only things being protested are policies the university can but will not change.

The pay and benefits are auch that international students cannot support themselves on it. Some are forced to work more than the allowed 20 hours a week for extra pay. Domestic students have a legal way to supplement their stipend. International students dont.
