Because the FAA makes it hard to get a license to operate a drone beyond line of sight.

So put a drone pilot on the GD roof... I also don't understand why putting people and all of that weight in the sky is preferable to a smaller, safer, more economically energy-efficient drone.

because there too many people trying to scare everyone about how dangerous drones are. I remember there was some protest and I think this was before FAA started putting rules in place, someone put a drone up to watch what everyone was doing. People started freaking out and cops followed the drone back and arrested the drone operator. Over nothing.
