Prefer this over a lot of the other Philly parking nonsense. It’s definitely better than assholes parking on corners or in crosswalks. The way “city leadership” pretends there’s no solutions for the glut of needed parking is the real bullshit, but also not worse than the “ban all cars” crowd.

Parking on the sidewalk is and effective way to avoid enforcement here in Philly, that much so true. I'm an eternal optimist, though: I vaguely hope that that car wasn't on that sidewalk for more than the two hour non-resident limit.

They only failed to park in the bus stop because that would have been farther from the front door (it's across Master Street from that store). Laziness trump's all other considerations.

I’m most concerned about the traffic light. looks awfully close to the car. The city is already cash strapped for traffic light maintenance and does a bad job with them already. And on top of that so many get knocked down by boneheads like this and have to be replaced on the city’s dime. The city already doesn’t have pedestrian signal heads on 29th st. A missing signal would make this even more dangerous.

If I was the owner of that grocery store, would the white car be legally parked? Maybe I'd need to tuck the ass in a little bit, but wouldn't it be like a driveway?

In any functional city this car would be towed within 15 minutes.

I know I’ll get a response like “they probably don’t have a license” or something. But they should suspend this person’s license as well. Auto accidents and mistakes happen no one expects everyone to be perfect. But if you’re driving your whole ass car onto the sidewalk its sort of unambiguously flouting traffic laws. Like what if there is an emergency and EMTs need access to the building its in front of or something.

And if they don’t have a license impound the car until they can produce one. Then suspend it.

He can take my advice or not I really don’t give a fuck, but it’s not smart regardless of how many windows can see that. People like that get robbed and then wonder how they were a target 🤷🏾‍♂️

That car is structural/load bearing. Can't be moved or front will collapse.

That's actually the rule in Philly. These days its getting the car towed and impounded that's the problem.
