So story, 6 months ago I was debt free and feeling pretty good about my self until my world came crashing down around me, my long term partner decided that all of a sudden he didn’t want a relationship anymore ( no signs that anything was wrong )and I had to move out with my two kids Long story short I have to spend my savings on getting a deposit and advance on a home to rent I had to buy furniture to put in the home for my kids and I, still very minimal

Literally 2 months later my car completely broke down couldn’t gets it fixed as I work out in the countryside I need a car to earn money So I took a car loan out and got a car from a dealership 3 week’s later that car broke down I had a mechanical warranty on it so I thought right I’ll get it fixed, I rang the finance company they weren’t any help at all. So I proceeded to get the car fixed, it took awhile to get the parts for the vehicle so I had a courtesy car for two weeks.

After that two weeks I ended up trying to get lifts of work colleagues which was not ideal because I live out in the middle of nowhere as well.

So when the part’s finally arrived they took everything apart and found that the whole transmission was broken and needed a new replacement so thinking that the mechanical warranty will cover it, I told him to go ahead and fix it, I should mention that the mechanic was struggling to find out what was wrong with the car, because all the codes were deleted to tell them what the issue was.

So I ended up losing my job because I couldn’t get there or I was late because I was relying on others.

I have a job now but 4 weeks I was out of a job I am 2 months behind rent now I haven’t been able to make repayment on the loan due to this situation I can’t pay any of my bills, I have had to take a job that I can walk to with a lot less money than I was making I am totally lost I have been in a depression because of this and I don’t know where to start because of anxiety.

I hope someone can give me advice

Because of all this I can’t get my car out of the garage because I now can’t afford the the rest of the mechanic bill.

Also I am on a resident Visa and I can’t get help from any government funding.

Numbers and location are necessary here.

Line out what you earn, where it's going, and so on. Be detailed.

You need to seek help from local welfare agencies. If you have a specific need (2k to get your car fixed to work) local benevolences can help there too.

Even getting food from your local food bank can help cut down on some of the cost.

The obvious answer is to make more money, but if you’re going to try and live on £25k/yr with two kids, you’ll need to tighten up your spend. Can you get rid of TV services since your kids have internet? Can you get a cheaper plan for your mobile? All these cost reductions do add up significantly and may get you out of the red.

/r/ukpersonalfinance can probably better help you.

Double return after each item in your list will give it a new line and make it much easier to read.

You list $1880 worth of monthly expenses without food, fuel for the car, insurance, clothes or any personal or household items, and your income comes to $2083 a month (Assuming that's gross so take-home is likely less). That's before taking into account the mechanic or anything else.

You need to reduce expenses everywhere you can, and increase income however possible. Not sure how child support works in the UK but you need that income. As for the car you need to determine what all the warranty covers and doesn't cover. There should be a contract associated with this. You should also look into any social services to help support you, food stamps, welfare etc.
