(FL) My solar is installed, paid for, and approved by City Inspection…Electric Company won’t approve to use until next week (2023). Do I get tax credit for my 2022 taxes? Or do I have to wait until 2023?
Any advice or guidance on if I get to claim my 30% Solar tax credit in 2022 or 2023?
I feel like all my paperwork is showing 2022 so I’ll be fine to claim in 2022 taxes, but it technically won’t be turned on until 2023…so I’m not sure how that works 🤔

I'm in the exact same boat, and I plan to take the tax credit in 2022. The rules specifically say they have to be installed. They do not specify that they must be "placed in service."
FYI - I am a tax professional, and I don't feel like this is a high-risk position.
