I received the following email today from Credit Karma:
Here at Credit Karma we’re always looking for ways to improve your member experience and to ensure that our products and others offered by our parent company, Intuit Inc., work seamlessly together. That’s why Credit Karma may allow Intuit access to certain data about your creditworthiness—such as your credit report information—to better personalize your experience, make recommendations and improve products across Intuit’s platform.
Our commitment to protecting your privacy hasn’t changed. You can learn more about our privacy practices by visiting our Privacy Statement and Terms of Service and you can select your preference >here< to limit Intuit’s access to this data*.*
I didn't paste any direct links in case they were associated to my account, but you can opt-out by going to your Credit Karma personal profile, scroll to the bottom of the page, click on 'Edit Data Preferences', then opt out of sharing.
Shame on them for opting everyone in by default. :(
