I wish they would give homage to the Indigenous tribes that helped them exist. I know the history of the Hudson Bay Company (I think that show on Netflix Frontier kind of touches on the history)....

Something tells me the Archdiocese will have some words about having a casino across the street from Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

The Catholic Church has a long history of using Bingo, lotteries, sweepstakes, card games etc as ways to raise money. They also target elderly.
It’s all gambling, it’s just ok when religious groups keep the money. When it’s private enterprise it’s immoral.

Department stores are in bad shape. Was at Macys for the first time in ages recently looking for sheets. So many shelves had the same few sets of sheets where in the past each section of shelves would have been different ones - in other words - short on stock so creating the illusion that they're not.

Casinos attract a very different type of person than one who shops at Saks. Very expensive real estate on Fifth Avenue also, don't see this getting approved.

Hopefully they’ll let you use the rest room for whatever the cheapest bet is.

A casino on the top floor of Saks probably won’t be filled with penny slots and $5 blackjack. They would probably go high end. They’re competing against Wynn/Related at Hudson Yards and Caesars/Times Square for the Manhattan location though so they probably don’t have a shot.

let's see how that plan goes in like 15 years when there are casinos everywhere from the Bronx to Coney island and they are all struggling to draw folks in

I was at a Macy's and the luggage section was a 7x7 square of cheap garbage thrown in a pile. It's bad

Casinos will take anyone's money and usually fast, from low to high stacks. Atlantic City doesn't even have $5 blackjack, so we're not talking about a Monte Carlo type of place in NYC in any of these locations.
