everything on that strip of northern Blvd calls itself long island city. I don't know who's wrong, but it seems like one side of the street is Sunnyside, one side is Astoria, and the road itself is woodside.

I believe Astoria is also technically part of "long Island City'
I think it has something to do to how mail was delivered in queens before it became part of NYC. Flushing is another one that it both a 'town' and a large area encompassing other towns (like I think jamaica).

I think zip codes starts with 113 have mails come from one central flushing location. So bayside, fresh meadows, and others

I lived in the area for a bit. My neighborhood is was Astoria for all intents and purposes but the official address was LIC for some reason

It is, but Jackson Heights address is Flushing. Queens addresses are wonky and the H mart is definitely not in Lic
