I feel like newer festivals like Gov Ball don’t really have a genre, they’re just whatever music is popular at the time. A few years ago that was indie rock and roll, now less so.

I don't listen to a ton of new music, but I'm surprised at how few of the non-headliners I recognize. I also feel like there's a lack of indie/indie rock, but that might be included in the artists I don't recognize.
