It's cheap and one of the few spots in the city is that truly is 24/7. No surprise. I dont think it's just a NY thing though

McDonald’s isn’t cheap anymore sadly. Unless you use the dollar menu. It’s like 10 bucks for a meal. Which is so silly.

Only thing that’s a dollar is a sweet tea or soda. It’s even worse

More items are $1 (or discounted) if you use the app. I go for the weekly $1 large fries, and sometimes for the $1 hashbrown. They also have the free medium fries with a $1 purchase. $1 drink, free medium fries - boom.

Wtf my app had zero deals at Delancey/Essex when I went there this Halloween. I ended up paying $20 and waiting 45 min to get my food at 4 AM.
I switched the location to my old one in California and all the deals were there. Somehow got the feeling that Manhattan is excluded from app deals, because yknow it's Manhattan
flashcapulet t1_izodmcn wrote
nope, live in manhattan, deals work for all of the 7 locations within 5 miles of me. it might've just been that specific location that turned them off.

I got a happy meal and a double cheeseburger w medium fries for like 13 the other night. Still pretty cheap but yeah it used to be cheaper. The food quality sucks though. Idk if it’s gotten worse or if I just never noticed before how bad it was.
But I tell you, there’s the most incredible chicken sandwich for 5 dollars at a place called Tiki Chick on the uws. So filling and such good quality. Pretty sure they’re made at Jacob’s Pickles and then are walked over to the tiki bar. JP owns the place so it’d make sense. You can get em to go or eat at the bar. I just can’t believe I can get a sandwich better than shake shack’s for 5 dollars. Also on the weekend their brunch menu has 5 dollar breakfast sandwiches and you can get a bacon egg and cheese on a donut.

My pleasure! I got like 5 last time. Ate two in one go, wife and kid ate one, and had one cold later which was super good
Show-Me-Your-Moves t1_izlfs78 wrote
One near me has a $4 fries + sandwich deal which is quite solid
Thetallguy1 t1_izmuffd wrote
Gotta use the app my man. They run so many damn deals, its like early 2000s pricing on there.

Post-pandemic none of the McDonald's near me are 24 hours here in SoCal.
citydudeatnight t1_izk2n7o wrote
Central LA like WEHO and K Town had a few great tacquerias and diners and even Denny's that were 24 hours since they were active hotspots. Let's hope they survived. I dont recall if Jack in the Box or In and Out ever had 24 hour drive thru. I seen them in the strip.
BlankVerse OP t1_izk31u0 wrote
Near me Del Taco and Jack-in-the-Box were always 24/7 until the pandemic.
citydudeatnight t1_izk3k1k wrote
Wow Thats sad. 24/7 joints seem pretty nil everywhere these days
travelinaj t1_izk35v7 wrote
Omg I tried Jack in the box when u travelled to Dallas it was amazing
citydudeatnight t1_izk3olx wrote
It is. It's total guilt fast food but yeah they were delicious
DeSterrennacht t1_izmrrmi wrote
The McDonald's near me in NYC isn't 24/7 either. Post-pandemic, there is basically no food available except for a couple of pizza joints after 11 pm in my neighborhood
sutisuc t1_izkhon9 wrote
Yeah but you still win given that you can go to in-n-out. We have to suffer through overpriced inferior shake shack
BlankVerse OP t1_izkhzm0 wrote
And In-N-Out stays open until 1:30 am.
