Geez, I hope they can survive. Maybe we should start a GoFundMe for them. I'm really worried.

In other news, NY city and state governments based next year’s budgets on what they thought they’d get in tax revenue.

When I worked at a hedge in 2006? Bonuses were hundreds of thousands to over a million for more senior executives--and I'm not taking MD level. Salaries on th other hand could be kind of average for a professional. The bonus is the big payout.

Do you legit read Semafor? This is only the second time I’ve seen it in the wild and I’m curious if it has regular readers.

I just want to point out that the article points to the year to date gains as of 9/30 to justify the cuts to the bonus pool and 9/30 is the bottom of the market dip. They're even playing dirty pool with their own.

Eat the rich! I agree, but keep in mind how much this money gets spread around Manhattan and supports restaurants, clothes and jobs for others. Downtown will feel it too. Just like crypto bros ain't spending in Miami, Wall Street is huge part of economy.

You realize without huge bonuses this city cannot function? Who is paying for all the pet projects from city hall? Not the people in this thread I can guarantee you.
