All of which is irrelevant because people have been able to easily buy weed from most bodegas and head shops for at least a year now--which is right and proper, IMO.
Most of us are simply consumers of the stuff, and that state of affairs thus benefits most of us. I'm cool with giving people convicted for simple possession some restitution in the form of a license to sell or something, but I'm also not particularly saddened or concerned to hear that such restitution may be worth less than promised.
FWIW, I went to Empire Cannabis the other day and it was pretty bunk--overpriced goods AND had some "membership fee" BS. Fuck that. Much better to buy from bodega or the delivery service I use, which has been operating smoothly since before weed was legal.

Again, they made it legal first and then told people to wait to sell it. This was always the inevitable conclusion to such an obviously backwards plan.

But that’s the point, the law was wrong. “Just following orders” was rejected as an excuse ages ago, it’s quite bizarre you’re now lamenting that.

It's not wrong and actually really smart. A big reason that California still has a massive weed black market was that they state regulations make it near impossible for anyone with even a thin criminal record to get a license to become part of the legal market.

What's the basis for saying that's the reason? I am from CA and myself and everyone I know just stopped buying from black market dealers once it was possible to get a med card, and we enjoy going to the ez weed store over there. We don't understand why people do keep using the black market.
