But that’s the point, the law was wrong. “Just following orders” was rejected as an excuse ages ago, it’s quite bizarre you’re now lamenting that.

It's not wrong and actually really smart. A big reason that California still has a massive weed black market was that they state regulations make it near impossible for anyone with even a thin criminal record to get a license to become part of the legal market.

What's the basis for saying that's the reason? I am from CA and myself and everyone I know just stopped buying from black market dealers once it was possible to get a med card, and we enjoy going to the ez weed store over there. We don't understand why people do keep using the black market.
