I love these road islands that are popping up, makes large roads less daunting to cross

I wish NYC also blocked cars from parking in corners

It's also the worst place on planet earth to own a car, and it's hard to have pedestrian deaths with an average driving speed of 3.8mph. Not arguing for which side is worth it, but I can say it's not without a cost. Before the anti-car crew jumps down my throat, I don't own a car thank you.

When I moved back to Brooklyn for a few months after having moved to San Diego, I parked my car in Fort Hamilton (I was a military dependent) and left it there until I drove back to San Diego.
I didn’t have a driver’s license until I was 26, and I was so used to taking public transportation and walking in the city that I just went right back to that.
Someone might not get killed by getting hit by a car at low speed, but no one wants to get hit by a car, even if it’s going slowly. That shit would hurt.

I appreciate that, and like I said I'm not arguing for which is right (though I was down voted as if I was)... Hoboken is 1.97 square miles and is miserable to own a car, NYC is 302 square miles, but people think anything they do that works is something we should take on. Hoboken has a population of 59,000 people, NYC has 8.5M. Pretty much the same, ah yes you guys have found the secret. I'm the dumb one. Or this stat just fits your agenda. Reddit is so dumb
