The “comedian” who wrote this article DEFINITELY works from home.

Visited NYC last month and took the subway a lot in the week I was there. Took the subway in Manhattan at all hours, even alone at 2AM, always felt safe, granted I am a white male in his 30s.

Did you happen to visit East NY or the south Bronx?

Yes, because a writer from the new yorker understands the experience of riding the subway after midnight.

New Yorker contributors are usually just freelance and this guy specifically is a freelance comedy writer who's in his 30's. I doubt he's anything close to wealthy, freelance journalism doesn't pay that much. So yeah he probably takes the subway and does so late at night as well.

Not the onion. 2/10. Not fun or clever. Written by someone who was paid to do so.

As opposed to all the writers who do their jobs for free lol?

Probably

Well you might wanna take some time this weekend to learn about the career of journalism. It’s not nearly as fruitful as one might imagine!

It’s totally funny and clever - and yes, writers get paid for content. That’s how it works. Apparently you are unfamiliar with the New Yorker and their satire.

Imagine finding comedy in "subway safety - LOL!!!!" Monstrous. The person who wrote this article should have to explain to Michelle Go's family exactly what they found so hilarious about the complex problem of increasing subway safety.

Yep waste of time. Should have at least included decent humor to justify the snarkiness

Unironically on the right track, instead, simply remove people behaving badly.
