I've started watching soccer in the last year (thanks to /r/soccer clips). As a kid falling in love with sports, I favored good offenses who had the tendency to break my heart so logically I chose Tottenham as my team. This past Sunday I went to Flannery's on 14th St between 7th and 8th Ave (which is the Tottenham bar) for my first game. The vibe was great (despite the loss) and I'll definitely be coming back for more Tottenham and WC games.
My buddy who is a huge soccer fan but moved away from New York told me to enjoy it here during the World Cup -- it's one of the best cities to watch soccer.
If you look up <club name> bar New York you'll be able to find the "official" bars of a lot of teams and I'm sure they'll host the games. I know for sure there are a couple of Tottenham bars, Arsenal bars, and Liverpool bars. I imagine there must be some Barcelona/Madrid/Bayern bars, too.
For reference: https://www.nyspurs.com/ Apparently this is a Liverpool bar: https://11thstbar.com/ Another Liverpool bar: https://www.carraghersnyc.com/
Thanks for the info, much appreciated!
Manhattan: O’Hanlon’s is the place to be on 14th ST and 1st for Arsenal games. Shame Blind Pig shut down. The overflow bar is a block west at The Winslow (where two scenes were shot for this NBC promotion when they first got rights to the premier league and you might recognize a few of the characters). Warning though, now that people are coming to the pubs again, Arsenal are top of the table, and there’s social media buzz for the pub and supporters group, you need to arrive at least an hour before kick off if you want to get inside. Jack Doyle’s is pretty good but not as lively.
Brooklyn: Berry Park in Greenpoint is fun for the World Cup. Wouldn’t recommend it for club games though. Kent Ale House, Banter Bar.
Queens: Bohemian Hall is another good World Cup watch party. In Queens for the world cup you can get pretty ethnic depending which neighborhood you go to.
I went to Jones Wood Foundry on the UES a few months ago and the place was absolutely packed with people watching some soccer game. It’s an English-style pub/restaurant so I’m guessing the soccer crowds only amass for English games or maybe a specific team, but seemed like a fun time if you’re a soccer fan.
Thank you!

Iona in Williamsburg is my favorite, Sliante is good too
To be honest, I almost miss the days where soccer was more of a niche sport. I’m from London originally and have been here 15 years, and I kind of miss the days where the only option was to go to Nevada Smiths. It’s great that more people are interested, but the wide availability has diluted it a little. There aren’t really that many places that are particularly known for showing soccer like there used to be. I’d say best thing is to go to bars depending on who is playing…I.e English pub if England and playing, lookup where the Germans go when Germany are playing etc
