I was already late for work and wasn't going to wait 15 minutes in line to charge my PATH ticket. If it was NYC subway, I would have just used my card but that doesn't work in NJ...

You turnstile hopped on PATH? Lol there are always cops there.

I've done it over 30 times trust me, but I just got unlucky. PATH is always fucking delayed, and has shitty machines, leading so many people to wait for 10+ minutes to get a god damn ticket

For future reference, if you're ever late again and don't have the patience to wait at the full service machines, there's a vending machine that sells pre-packaged metrocards for $10, no need to wait in line for that one.

Pay the fine, this is just a citation, it's not going on your record. No company will see this or know.

Depends on what kind of summons. But usually show up in court/pay the fine and done.

Should be. It usually is a violation, a non criminal summons.

Nah no record. If you dont pay it youll end up with a warrant and it’ll probably bite you in the ass years from now and youll find yourself spending the night in bookings.

Happened to a friend of mine in high school lol had a warrant for getting in the bus without paying forgot about it. Got caught doubling up going through the turnstile with some chic. Spent the night in bookings.

So this was PATH, not the MTA?

If this was the MTA, the current status is that fare evasion citations are treated as administrative violations, sort of like a traffic ticket. They don't go on a criminal record. But I don't know for sure that the same is true with respect to PATH; for example it might depend on whether it was NYPD or Port Authority Police who issued the ticket.

No récord. No one can see it really once it’s paid besides police records. Not significant and will not affect you in any way.
