Why does this man represent your community? You think punching him in the face elevates the situation? Just obey the rules yourself, and ignore everything else. He probably just wants attention; don't give it to him.

I mean, it was a clear injection of levity and a point of being frustrated enough but knowing not doing something is the bigger thing, hence me hoping I only see it and not be the one doling out the beating. It finds these types of entitled pricks. Lessons, that is. I am ignoring him. That doesn’t mean it’s easy and he doesn’t deserve a whooping. Secondly, I was making a connection to what Mike Tyson famously said; “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Also, he represents my community because he’s a part of it like the rest of us. The same way we represent our neighborhood by the way we throw trash out and not on the sidewalk.

Ah -- I'm feeling grim this morning so totally misunderstood. People have been yelling at PEP for years. And honestly, some of them deserve it. But I totally understand the impulse to punch obnoxious people in parks.

Right. I get you. It was clear that it got more and more out of hand over here and a local probably had enough. And the PEP in this case was not sticking her chest out or making a scene. Instead, it was this guy being a total nozzle and kept poking the bear.

Good for the PEP. They do put up with a lot of abuse. I talked to an Urban Park Ranger (same enforcement powers, I think). She worked in Central & Riverside Parks & said wealthy people would often try to get out of a ticket by telling her how much they donated to the park. Didn't matter to her.
