Ditto. My dad was on duty during the high of BLM protests and he told me one of his superiors had blood tatter all over her suit talking to him about “Were taking the city back” and tried to sick him on a bunch of teenagers minding their business like he was a fucking mongol soldier

He quit

There are actually dozens of videos if not hundreds online of nypd officers savagely attacking civilians with their badges covered during BLM. And then of course there was the infamous occupy wallstreet takedown where white shirt off duty officers being paid overtime were pictured punching peaceful protesters in the face.

NYPD = tax payer funded gang

My cousin got to handle punks for 20 years and now has a $100,000 + pension at 54. That's not my idea of a life well spent but he's laughing at you from his apartment in Northern Florida (and appreciates your taxes going to support his lifestyle). Ironically his "NY pied-a-terre" is in Maspeth, and he drinks at O'Neils (referenced in the article) in the summer and autumn months before he decamps for the winter on the Gulf Coast. He's laughing at you.

Holy shit, Northern Florida! I can only dream of such luxuries. 😂 Where’s your mom, out of curiosity?

Just as some people wouldn't live in Northern Fla (myself included), some people wouldn't live in Seattle, Minneapolis, St Louis or NYC. My cousin kept his property in NYC- he just doesn't live there long enough to be on the hook for taxes.

Anyway...The location isn't the point. The point is that he's living tax free on a sweet pension and you're paying for it.

Cops with a line of duty disability pension have their pension calculated at the last 3 years of service, including OT. Generally, accidental disability benefits are three-quarters of the retiring officer's annual salary and are non-taxable. Your George Floyd riots really spiked OT, so he's making over $100,000 tax free in a state with no income tax. in his early 50's, actuarial tables show that he's collecting for around 20 years more.

You and I- the NYC taxpayer- suffer loss of services when the pension tab is so high. A blue collar schmo from Nassau county snorting at the trough. He 's laughing at you. Trust me.

Maybe but he's the one living in northern florida so I can laugh at him too

He's happy there. You probably have room-mates and live in Bushwick, and I suspect aren't happy. He's also getting paid by you. You're not getting paid by him. He pays no taxes in Fla and his NYPD pension is exempt.

He's laughing at you.

Wait sorry I didn’t get that, is he laughing?

I live in Windsor Terrace and depending on what products he purchases there's a pretty good chance I am in fact getting paid by him, just as indirectly and minutely as he's getting paid by me, and I'm still laughing at him for deciding to live in northern Florida.

So I guess we're both a couple of happy laughing guys getting paid

Products? Cigars, beer and meat bought in Florida or Maspeth? That's a stretch, but you can tell yourself that.

My family -his grandparents and mine- are from there and took the sacraments at IHM on E3 and Ft Ham. My parents were married there. Grandpa drank at Farrell's; Denny's on McDonald occasionally, too. Our dads and uncles do and did. My brothers and cousins do and did an soon my kids will. Not that Farrell's is anything special, mind, but something tells me that you wouldn't fit in there. That's why we still stop by. No transplants.

It's real and authentic, unlike the nerds walking their dogs on 9th Avenue while wearing their Brooklyn t-shirts.

So tell me... Where do you knock them back? Someplace with fruity lambecs and IPAs?

You are certainly a smart and interesting person with a valuable perspective.

You are certainly a smug transplant who wears Brooklyn shirts but doesn't know anyone who was raised there. Worse, you look down on those who were.
