How many in the whole state?
Ask her why she had to intervene, when the man violated parole and she signed Less is More into law with the promise it would only benefit people who were guilty of "technical violations" (a lie from the beginning)

What plans, if any, are there to help alleviate zoning/permits etc to help use the space in more helpful ways to create more mixed use space to make areas more livable and less dependent upon commuting? Or movement towards a vacancy tax so that there is not as much incentive for physical property to sit idle leading towards the undesirable conditions we see today.

Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, and Representative Lee Zeldin, a Republican."
" The paucity of options is largely due to former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, who championed changes in election law two years ago that made it far more difficult for third parties to get on the ballot. The changes to ballot access law tripled the number of voter signatures required for groups to get on the November ballot and forced political parties to qualify every two years instead of four."
Don't you (Hochul) think it is hypocritical of the Democratic Party to ardently promote the danger to democracy posed by MAGA Republicans and Trump yet under your leadership and the past governorship, Democrats have attempted to gerrymander by trying to include a highly liberal area to NYC's sole republican district, and Democrats having blindsided voters who neither identify with the Democrats or Republicans by obstructing third parties from competing in the governorship?

lispenard1676 t1_isla33n wrote
The housing pressure in the city exists bc it's made that way.
Consider the amount of abandoned buildings that dot the city, esp in Upper Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn. Bringing these buildings back into play would make a major dent in housing demand.
Think about the (utterly ludicrous) 421-a program which requires only 25-30% of a new bldg's units to be affordable. That percentage should be at least 50% if we're serious about cracking this problem.
Think about the housing vouchers that most landlords refuse to accept. That's a program that could be so much more successful if it were exploited more.
Plus, the Adams admin refuses to give firm numbers on how many affordable apartments it will construct or preserve. When apartment affordability has never been more critical, Adams' silence is deafening.
Ultimately, it's up to the government to make housing affordable. This is where City Hall should be leading the charge. But Adams is asleep at the wheel, which is negligent at best or malicious at worst. His inaction on this front (and on other fronts) has the potential to do major damage to the city's fortunes.
