Thanks but I need f ood now. Will the hospital give me food?
Probably not.
I just left Mount Sinai East. Is there another hospital? I just know they serve food sometimes to their patients and if I say I haven't eaten in 45 hours they will feed me yes?
They might give you something depending on what might go in for, but there's a good chance you'll be billed for every little bit involved with that hospital visit and either owe that debt or take the time to have it be forgiven.
I don't care. Which hospital? I just need to eat. Thanks. I'm near midtown now. Should I go to another Mount Sinai?
Do not go to hospitals for food. They’ve got way too much going on and will pay you little to no attention. Please search for a food bank.
They aren't open. Some require a voucher. I don't know what a voucher is at all.
what intersection are you near so I can try searching what might be available in the area
Hey op, here's a link for free meals in Manhattan and their schedules. Some are daily at 8/9pm.
I don't think you need a voucher for the grand central ones listed on there
If you’re a student, you have access to paper and pens, possibly a marker. Literally make a sign that says “Need Help. Haven’t eaten in 45 hours” and stand at a sidewalk at a busy area and literally in less than 15 minutes a good Samaritan will buy you food at a nearby food cart or fast food restaurant.
Call 866-888-8777
That's not safe. Last week a guy tried to hurt me. Well I think. He said mean things to me. I'm small so it's not safe to do that
Thanks so much
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!
Then you should approach nice looking people who are leaving restaurants and are carrying leftover food, and ask them nicely if you can have their leftovers because you’re hungry. Someone did that to me before and I was happy to give them my bag of leftover food.
I did once and they said bad things to me. Go back to your country. I don't want problems here. But thanks for the advice. I'll just go to the food banks. Thanks
Food pantries will give you items to store at home, and soup kitchens will feed you a warm meal. You can call 311 and ask for sites close to you that are open now. There are social workers on site at both types of locations that can assist you in getting additional help (although as a student with a non/immigrant visa you’re not eligible for cash assistance or SNAP/food stamps.) I’m sorry you’re hungry, and hope you get nourishment soon!
Thanks so much
Better off going to a church. Hospitals are not the place to get free food.
If you stand outside a 7 eleven and open the doors for people, someone will eventually buy you something.
You need to go to a soup kitchen or a food bank. Hospitals usually aren't in the business of feeding people who aren't patients. Why don't you contact your school and ask for emergency help?
How did you get an F1 visa without room and board arrangements?
In other posts OP has claimed to be an American and a New Yorker.
