Apparently there's a five alarm fire in West New York, NJ that's burned multiple buildings. That's all I could find so that's most likely it. I can smell it on the UES also.

Gah this is awful. Thanks for sharing

Omg. I came here to say that I woke up smelling this on the UES! That's nuts.
Definitely hitting midtown and the UES. Smell is horrible.
Could you please put it out, we are trying to sleep.

I... truthfully didn't know that existed
You should visit there! Take the ferry from midtown to Port Imperial and you'll have a great view of the NYC skyline
Me too and I’m on York Avenue! Thanks for assuaging my fears.
I smelled something funny about the same time and I am in Sunnyside queens NY.
Me too and I’m in Forest Hills.
Was this like 12pm last night? We woke up to some weird rubber burning smell
It’s like a 30 rock joke
well, maybe not today
And HIMYM.
..
And IRL, cause, ya know, its in Joisey
Did you know about East New York, Brooklyn?
Pretty sure it was named that when Brooklyn was it’s own city, but we still call it that.
They just sound so dumb now.

It woke me up on the UES right before 6am. I at first thought it was the heart cause it smells weird but then it was still outside when I went to walk my dog. Thanks for the info!

Nothing cooler than not paying attention to the fire behind you

Almost as embarrassing, cringworthy, and thirsty as "Beverly Hills Adjacent."
Yes, I promise you, that what they call the area of L.A. next to Beverly Hills, rather than just Los Angeles.
