Nah, continue enjoying your senior year. Then roll up your sleeves for more studying and cramming during college, ensure to put aside reaidual senioritis slacking.
Honestly, say you go to college outside NY, the heck will they care about "regents".
Good luck w the rest of the year and upcoming year of college.
If you're already accepted and going to a college, no. If really won't make a difference now. I think it only made a difference for a few regarding honor programs for CUNY but it has been a while.
I think AP classes were more valuable and get you a better leg up in college. Back then, before you can get to the AP classes, you generally had to finish a bunch of prerequisites which pretty much means you were at least 95% there at getting the advanced Regents diploma.
I think my friend who got the advance diploma received a free ride of tuition to SUNY and lot's of scholarships to private colleges. That was years ago but she still brags about it, so go for it.
Oh wow, that is great for your friend. Was it just the diploma that gave her the money? Or was there a special Program in that SUNY that gave it? Usually I didn’t hear of anyone receiving money from the diploma in recent years but would be good to look into
Not really sure since it was awhile ago and things change, but speak with your guidance counselor since that type of diploma opens more doors based upon merit.
She went to Stonybrook and only paid for dorming, but was offered a good scholarship at NYU at yhe time however decided no because she wanted to get away from home. Look into all NY colleges since they are the only ones who know about the regent programs.
