I've worked in higher ed for 22 years for 3 reasons. 1). Pension 2) Stability 3) full tuition for my 3 kids and wife. I'm a lowly peon locked away in a closet that no one ever sees. Most higher ed has tuition waivers for staff, spouse and dependents.
