A mechanical fan is called a "ventilator" in German.

In the US we have things called ventilators. They are often for industrial applications when you need to ventilate an area of dangerous particulate like spray paint, or maybe debris from sand blasting

From what the local German media report, it was actually an oxygen supply/concentrator rather than an active ventilator - not that that makes it better.

In dutch and german it is! And an english ventilator is called a beademingsapparaat (or breathing machine) in dutch

According to a german news site the patient had to be reanimated when the oxygen was shut off the second time.
She is being detained for suspicion of attempted manslaughter.

Not reading the article. Theories:
It was too loud and I couldn’t sleep.
The electricity bill has gone way up. Why does she need to run that thing all the time?
I needed the outlet for the vacuum and forgot to plug her thing back in.
