Breaking news! New Zealand proposes taxing a kind of carbon emission, in order to reduce carbon emissions! How weird!

Methane emissions not carbon, to be pedantic

Methane (CH4) is the second most impactful greenhouse gas, second to Carbon Dioxide (CO2). It has a CO2 equivalent of 84x, meaning every 1 litre of Methane released is equivalent to 84 litres of Carbon Dioxide. It contributes to a countries carbon footprint, and is therefore considered to be a carbon emission, to be pedantic.

Methane has carbon in it, and is way worse than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas.
