I love that they had the gall to use DUMY as their fake call sign. Assign it to DUMY and it's handled! DUMY is at the scene right now. Most productive unit in the whole system.

Dissolve Holyrood and put the money it would save back into local areas for Police, Fire Service, councils etc. The public deserves better.

Tell me what would happen if you dissolved Holyrood and added powdered root of Asphodel.

"I don't know sir"

You don't know? Well, let's try again... Where, Mr. Potter, would you look if I asked you to get me a bezoar?

For American readers.

Police had a (fake) unit on duty, called sign DUMY.

They were not using a fake dispatch system.

Calls would be assigned to Dumy, and often not handled at all.

Wow. I read the article expecting to find that DUMY was a test object setup by developers and QA people to test the system while being developed… and then end users found it and started using it to suff away work.

Instead it turns out that the end users demanded the DUMY object be created so they could use it… and someone approved this.
