If it's an industry, surely there needs to be a provision for refunds, right?

Just another job.

It's 100% illegal to buy sex in Sweden(where Enköping is located) so he basically wanted a refund for the crime he committed😅

But wasn't she also guilty of a crime? They should have at least made her split it but these woke Swedish judges...ugh I read gonna try to go on a fake right wing rant but I haven't had my coffee yet. You get the drift.

Harahira t1_j8xflz6 wrote

Well, no she wasn't. She didn't commit any crime, since it's only illegal to pay for sex and it's not illegal to receive money.

You see, we don't criminalize as many people as humanly possible to generate profit for private owned prisons, because that's not something a civilised society would do..right?

So it's a crime to buy sex but it's not illegal to sell sex? Or just not illegal to pretend to sell sex to take some creep's money? The latter I could really get behind.

Harahira t1_j95a3kp wrote

Yeah, its a crime to buy, not a crime to sell (to protect those who are forced to sell sex/trafficking victims and enable them to turn to the authorities without risk of repercussion).

While it's not legal to commit fraud, you cant use the justice system to get your money back since transferring that money for sex was a crime. It would be like going to the police and complain about someone in your money laundry business is stealing money.

So basically, if you're a creep you're pretty screwed(no pun intended) if the person selling sex isn't really up to it after you've paid.

They should do this with drugs too. It's so ridiculous that they arrest dealers instead of addicts. Demand creates supply.

Unless you're a woman buying tantric massage, which is penetrative massage with climax. Google "tantric massage in Stockholm" and you will find plenty of establishments or people offering sex to women in exchange for money.

The anti sex buying laws of Scandinavian countries, is a sexist law targeting men, not women. As there's not been one women fined for purchasing sex, even though they buy the service.

Neither buying nor selling sex of any kind is illegal in Denmark as long as the seller are at least 18yo, acting of their own free will and are self-employed (so being a pimp is illegal).

so the buyer of illegal stuff cant complain, sure, but the seller of illegal stuff cant justify their gained capital either

will they confiscate her ill gotten cash?

Selling sex isn't illegal in Sweden. The idea is to protect victims of trafficking and those who otherwise end up in the situation against their will. That said, I have no idea what happens to the money but in many cases the seller had to pass most of it on to someone else (whose part in it was also illegal).

This is usually intentional. It's the same with laws against work done off the books. In some countries, you can't sue for money, for example if you have done construction work with your company off the books and the "customer" does not pay.

This way there is more risk involved.
