I think if you're taking an "anti-hemorrhage supplement", your list of "Things to Worry About" can certainly include "donkey gelatin", but it should also include "why am I hemorrhaging".

"The fuck is in these pills besides donkey taint?"
Dietary supplements are the weakly regulated wild west of medicine. There are basically no rules here. A lot of them are not the herb advertised on the bottle or contaminated with heavy metals. You can stick to reputable brands but surprise, the reputable brands are trash too.

In some regions of Italy donkey meat is traditional. When in Verona I had nice pasta with donkey ragu. As usual, it is the classic "my culture is better than your culture, stop eating donkey meat".

I'm under the impression that horse meat is relatively common in Europe. I looked it up and most gelatin comes from cows and pigs. This is unsurprising because of how many we eat.

It is regional, but yes, it is common. Don't serve horse meat to a British, but in Iceland I found it served at a hotel buffet dinner.

I had basashi in Japan awhile back (along with raw chicken)… turns out, picking random dishes at a sushi restaurant without fully understanding the translations can be an unintentional adventure.

Yes, and hence marshmallows and certain types of pop-tarts are found in pork rooms in western-oriented supermarkets in the UAE - although now hey’ve come out with good marshmallows made with fish gelatin.

It has the potential to affect cow, chicken, pig, etc… corporate farm profits. No bueno for corporate controlled governments like the US.
More seriously though, one of the lies that is commonly stated as to why you shouldn’t eat these meats is that they are unregulated and can be filled with unknown and hazardous chemicals, which is true. But that’s a misdirection because they could regulate it and that wouldn’t be a problem at all.

It's one thing to use animals, but products needs to be marked as being vegetarian and vegan. Or, alternatively, that they contain animal products.

I also have to wonder what kind of person assumes Amazon vets the claims of every product and seller on their website.
Who doesn't see Amazon as a rapacious marketeer that will do almost anything to make a buck? It treats its employees like shit, but she thought they'd be very concerned about mislabeled products?!?
