It’s a very specific part of the island that you have to very purposefully attempt to go to. You can’t accidentally end up in La Perla. And you’re told not to go there by pretty much everyone. So just don’t be an idiot tourist and you’d be fine.

I think they're talking about people from the mainland. I'm also not surprised these tourists got stabbed. Rich people move here and jack prices up for the locals and then say the same time build these communities where they all live together. So the locals see people who remember l resemble the rich and attack because they really don't like them

My guess is because every Puerto Rico stabbing victim is an American stabbing victim, but people act like Puerto Rico citizens aren't American.

I'm not saying it's good satire, but my guess is this is what they meant
