Too many nursing home nurses go into nursing just for the money. They don't have any interest in the wellbeing of the residents.

A lot start for helping people. After all the abuse of patients, and their relatives, it becomes a job like any other.

Some still keep that spark of wanting to help people. Same with teachers and other professions.

For the money you spend on getting the schooling, you could easily get one of the multiple easier business degrees and get a corporate job that pays a lot better...

They can still switch to an easy office job and they do, cause the hospital/retirement home/whatever want to reduce costs and time at the patients side. Meaning nurses leave, making it more stressful for those who stay.

I was once told by a career nurse that there are three kinds of nurses. Those who train but leave soon because they realize they won't be able to handle the work, those who stay a while and get by with drinking, and those who are just made for the job and are in their element. I would venture to add a fourth category, among those in nursing homes who want the money without too much responsibility. I was in and out of the hospital twice in the past two yesrs and came across some of those in rehab.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but I think it’s pretty hard to find a lot of people that are passionate about changing adult diapers and regularly finding dead clients

I think that's done by the nurses' aides. This was a licensed practical nurse charged with ability to formally declare someone dead.
