You tried to help him and he ran.. Which was odd behavior in the first place. Then you obviously should have said something to your parents after all. You had information you didn't give up. Spirits become what they are because of what has happened. Usually some injustice on them which can make a spirit fester with anger that turns to rage. So at this point it's about finding where that little boy died and then finding your son too.
