Man, you have to remember this guy was pre-TikTok too, so the amount of sheer shit and trolling he got was insane, especially during early 2010s YouTube.

Glad the public perception around him never fully gave into that negative cesspit all-in-all. To go at 27 is a fucking shame, though.

From the article: he had “Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome, a condition that causes organs to enlarge among other symptoms, for which he received frequent treatments and underwent several surgeries. According to his verified social media accounts, he was scheduled to undergo open heart surgery earlier this month.”

Apparently they had started the open heart surgery, and it led to complications. He was then put on life support. A couple days later he passed away. Really awful.

He was a “little person” and a great guy before it was sadly “cool”. He helped change people’s perceptions and helped normalize people that were… well, normal.

RIP dude.

Old person here and genuinely asking: you mean it’s now cool to be a little person or a great guy? Would be nice if both were true.

That video of him and Perez Hilton lip syncing Moves Like Jagger played so much at the college bars/clubs in my area at that time. Glad he seemed to make the most of his time with us.

I dont mean to sound insensitive, but why would the family need to set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses? I would think a youtuber who has millions of views on each video would be pretty well off from ad revenue alone.

He hasn't been a popular youtuber for a long time, and his popular videos were all him lip synching to popular music, videos that all would have been content claimed so he'd make no money from them

The majority of YouTubers, even the bigger ones, make crap money.

Keenan had a very niche audience and it looks like his biggest video was over a decade ago

I feel for Keenan and his family, but, man, did I enjoy how the author of this obit described Perez Hilton as a gossip blogger from the aughts.

Not quite. Not even close.
